Winner.co.zw is a betting and casino guide written specifically for players in Zimbabwe. We focus on what matters locally: which bookmakers and casinos accept Zimbabwean players, how deposits and withdrawals work with EcoCash, which games are available, and what the rules say about betting and tax on winnings. This page explains exactly how we reach our rankings, how often we check them, and who is behind the content.

What we cover

  • Bookmakers and casinos: reviews and rankings of the platforms available in Zimbabwe, on our best betting sites page and our casino list.
  • Games: crash games such as Aviator and JetX, slots and live tables, with how each one works, on our games page.
  • Regulation and payments: licensing, tax on winnings and EcoCash limits, in our gambling news section.
  • News: new bookmakers and market changes in Zimbabwe, in our news section.

How We Rate Bookmakers and Casinos

Every bookmaker or casino featured on Winner.co.zw is scored against the same four criteria. A platform doesn’t need to be flawless on all four, but a serious failure on any single one — an expired licence, for example — is enough to keep it off our recommended lists, no matter how attractive its bonus looks.

  • Licensing. We check whether the operator holds a valid licence — either from Zimbabwe’s Lotteries and Gaming Board under the Betting and Totalizator Control Act, or, for international platforms, a recognised offshore licence disclosed on the operator’s own site. A missing or unverifiable licence is treated as a disqualifying flag, not a minor detail.
  • EcoCash payment speed. Since most Zimbabwean players deposit and withdraw through EcoCash, we time real transactions on each platform: how long a deposit takes to reflect in the betting balance, and how long a withdrawal actually takes to land back on the EcoCash wallet, rather than repeating the “instant” claim from a marketing page.
  • Bonuses and terms. We read the full wagering requirements, minimum odds and withdrawal caps attached to a welcome offer, not just the headline figure. A large bonus with restrictive terms scores lower than a smaller one that’s actually achievable.
  • Reliability. This covers how a platform behaves over time: whether odds and balances update correctly, whether support responds within a reasonable window, and whether the platform shows a pattern of unresolved player complaints.

How Often We Update Our Reviews

Bookmakers change their bonus terms, EcoCash processing times shift, and licences can lapse or be renewed without much public announcement. To keep our rankings accurate, we review every bookmaker and casino page on a quarterly cycle at minimum. Each review carries a « Last verified » date near the top, so you can see at a glance when the information was last checked rather than assuming it’s still current months later.

Outside of the regular quarterly cycle, a page is re-checked immediately whenever we’re notified of a payment issue reported by readers, a licence change, or a change to EcoCash limits — our page on EcoCash betting limits is one example of content updated outside its normal schedule after limits changed.

Our Editorial Process

Before a bookmaker or casino appears on Winner.co.zw, we go through the same sequence of steps rather than rewriting the operator’s own marketing copy:

  1. Open a real account with the operator, using the same registration flow a Zimbabwean player would use.
  2. Make a genuine EcoCash deposit and, separately, request a withdrawal — timing both instead of relying on the operator’s stated processing window.
  3. Read the full terms and conditions for bonuses, deposit limits and account verification, rather than the summary shown on the promotions page.
  4. Cross-check the licence claim against the gaming regulator’s public register and the requirements of the Betting and Totalizator Control Act.
  5. Monitor Zimbabwean player forums and social media threads for recurring complaints, particularly around payouts, before finalising a score.

Our comparison of EcoCash processing times across multiple operators is built directly from this testing process — see Best EcoCash Betting Sites in Zimbabwe for the resulting figures.

Who Writes for Winner.co.zw

Guides on regulation, tax and payments are written by Steeve Morton, who follows Zimbabwean gambling law and cross-checks regulatory claims against the relevant authority before publishing. Reviews of individual bookmakers and casinos go through the testing process described above before a member of the editorial team signs off on the final score. Every article on this site is signed, so you can see who is responsible for what you’re reading.

How we make money

Winner.co.zw is free to read. Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you sign up with a platform after clicking one, we may receive a commission from that platform, at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the site.

Commissions never change how a platform is reviewed or ranked. A platform that pays out slowly, hides its terms or lacks a licence is described as such, whether or not we work with it.

Winner.co.zw is not a casino or a bookmaker. We don’t accept bets, hold player funds or process payments. Any account you open, deposit you make or dispute you have is with the platform itself, under its own terms and licence.
